David and Emily relocated from Cheltenham, 150 miles away and purchased a 4 bedroom detached Waterford home in Lincolnshire. Seeking a more manageable, energy-efficient home with enough space for visiting family, they found that Gleeson offered the right combination of affordability, specification, and timing.
“We bought the 4 bedroom Waterford as it offered us the space we wanted, as well as enough room for when our families come to stay,” said David. “The master bedroom is a really good size, which allowed us to install a lot of furniture and still have space,” added Emily.
After living in a Victorian property in Cheltenham, which required ongoing maintenance, they were drawn to the benefits of a new build. “We chose Gleeson because the price made it affordable to us. As we had already found a buyer for our existing home, we needed to find a new home at the right build stage, which Gleeson ticked all the boxes for.”
Since moving in, the couple have seen a noticeable reduction in household bills. “The main difference with our bills is the gas. We've lived in our Gleeson home for less than a year so far, but already, our estimated bill is half of what we were previously paying.”

Their decision to move north was influenced by work location, affordability, and lifestyle. “We looked to move further north as this is where I am based for work... Location was important as we needed good transport links, a sense of community and to be surrounded by countryside.” David said.
Now settled, David and Emily are enjoying life in a friendly and quiet community. “People are so friendly and love a chat, the neighbourhood is very quiet. I can only say good things about Gleeson.”
